Evening,

I'm sitting in Hotel Room 1510 nibbling on Camembert and crackers in between sips of chai tea. We leave for London in two weeks. Jan, Rob and I. Bangers & Mash and I. We drove back from Canberra today and have a few days in Sydney before we go over to Perth for the first of the last three shows of the tour. We sold out both nights at the Hopetoun in Sydney on the weekend - it was packed and sweaty and brilliant. I'm thrilled.
Dann (Hume) and I are reconvening on the weekend to continue with the final touches on the album. I'm looking forward to being out in the country. The city is beautiful tonight though - from here I can see it sprawling out in its twinkling glory down to the harbour.
I've been talking to a tailor about getting a coat made. A velvet cloak with an enormous draping hood and lovely and long in the length. Little flying ravens and dancing people and bunches of roses and the pyramids and the moon embroidered along the edges. I'll never take it off.
I'm reading 'The Secret History' by Donna Tartt. I've really only just begun to really delve into the plot and it's excellent. Rob is reading her second one - it's called 'The Little Friend'. She's only written two novels and so it seems odd that Rob and I are reading them at the same time. Donna is definately a strong subconcious presence in our band at the moment.
I just checked my bath in the nick of time. I should think a flooded hotel room is not a very convenient disaster to rectify. I might just sink in there with my book right now.
